    Water Fun

Our Cubs enjoyed a fantastic morning of water activities, together with cubs from other groups around Tonbridge. They tried out kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, rafting, power boating and rowing, but by far the favourite activity on such a scorching day was jumping in the river!

Huge thanks to our friends at 14th Tonbridge Sea Scouts for organising and running the day.

    In tents Friday

It’s camping season! If you’re going away as a family this half term you can rest assured that your children know how to put up the tent… Beavers and Scouts were both getting some practice in this week.

    Where are we?

Troop enjoyed a beautiful sunset hike last week, some took scenic detours but all made it to the planned finish!

Cubs, campfires and catapults at Carroty Wood

On Friday night a very excited group of Cubs were dropped off at Carroty Wood for their two night activity weekend. They had an action packed programme of swimming, hiking, abseiling, low ropes, camp fires and catapult building! Sunday afternoon saw an exhausted (but still smiling) group, full of sausages and chocolate bananas. Huge thanks to the Cubs leaders for arranging the weekend, and also to the Beaver and Scout leaders who came along to help out.

    Den Building

On Friday the Beavers had a go at building dens amongst the bluebells – we think the leaders might have had as much fun as the children!

The Beavers enjoyed a great trip to Dino Golf this week, we can see some future golfing stars emerging!

    Swedish Candles

With the weather finally improving, the Scouts began making Swedish Candles. We were very impressed with their skills with a saw! We’re looking forward to testing them out next week.

    St George’s Day Parade

We were all really disappointed that the St George’s Day Parade was cancelled due to the bad weather, but we’re very proud of everyone at 2nd Tonbridge. You all worked hard to prepare either as part of the Colour Party or to parade with your Sections, and we know you would have marched enthusiastically despite the rain had it been safe to do so. We couldn’t have asked any more from you.

    Beavers trip to Cart Wood

Our Friday night Beavers enjoyed a very muddy trip to Cart Wood, building fires (despite the rain!) and playing games.
